Craig Noonan

Managing Director

Cereals New Zealand is led by New Zealander, Craig Noonan. Craig is uniquely qualified in understanding the lifecycle of a cereal gaining knowledge across the arable and cereal sector through his roles in agrochemical agronomy & sales, cereal seed breeding & sales and more latterly as an end user running a feed mill.

Craig established Cereals New Zealand, “to bring through the best wheat varieties which will effectively close the loop benefiting the arable farmer, the miller or processor and the end user, so that everyone wins”. 

John Blackman

Wheat Breeder

John Blackman is one of the United Kingdom's most successful wheat breeders and through his 38 year career has had more varieties on the UK’s recommended lists than any other breeder. John has seen over 73 harvests across two hemispheres and to the best of our knowledge is the only wheat breeder who has a specific breeding programme for each hemisphere. Given the in depth knowledge of the New Zealand arable market,  John is able to make crosses (breed) in varieties annually, specifically to meet the needs of the New Zealand market.

John considers New Zealand to be, “simply the best place in the world to grow wheat”.
